Remote work scenarios
The right solution for your enterprise network needs depends on a few factors. Here we look at a basic scenario and a more elaborate scenario, as well as a remote management scenario for IT staff.
I have a single computer that I need to connect to the home office
If you use a laptop or desktop computer in your home office and want a secure, wired connection, a Digi cellular extender like the Digi 6310-DX is a great solution.
For a primary wired WAN, connect your computer to the LAN port on the Digi 6310-DX and the WAN port to your home Internet router. Your company’s IT staff can remotely configure the Digi 6310-DX via Digi Remote Manager to create a VPN tunnel between your home office and the company’s data center, encrypting all IP traffic in that tunnel. If your home Internet experiences a service outage, the Digi 6310-DX cellular module takes over and keeps communications up and running while keeping your data secure.
I have several devices that I need to connect to my company network
If you need to connect multiple devices to your corporate network, a device like the Digi EX15 and Digi 6310-DX are great.
Your IT staff can set up configurations for these devices in Digi Remote Manager this only allows your corporate-issued devices (laptop, cell phone, tablet, etc.) to connect to the extender’s WLAN and establish a secure connection through the VPN tunnel to your corporate network. IT staff can continuously monitor all home connections by using Digi Remote Manager and ensure that remote hardware maintains configurations and uptime.
